A specialist logistics recruiter is celebrating, following its debut at leading industry trade show Multimodal.
Innovate Freight Talent exhibited and also presented a key seminar on finding the best logistics talent for your business, at the UK’s leading supply chain conference and logistics expo at the NEC. The annual event, considered to be the industry’s annual meeting place for forwarders, shippers and other supply chain professionals, gave those operating in the sector an opportunity to connect.
Founder Richard Litchfield’s well-attended seminar focused on attracting talent to the industry in challenging times, which generated valuable and productive conversations between the team and senior leaders in the logistics industry.
Richard said: “Multimodal has been a fantastic way to share our industry insight with those looking to attract the best and brightest talent in the logistics industry.
“Our first Multimodal has been filled with some great conversations with those interested in working with us, and it is fair to say we’ll be back, bigger and better at Multimodal 2025.
“I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to speak at this year’s event, and we’ve received positive feedback from those in attendance – it’s been excellent to have a presence at one of the leading transport sector events on the continent.”
It comes as the firm marks six months since it launched in 2023, going from strength to strength and building its client base in the UK and overseas by maximising its in-depth knowledge of the transport and logistics sector.
Industry entrepreneur Richard Litchfield, who has a track record spanning 25 years and a deep understanding of the unique challenges of recruiting for the sector. Having entered the logistics sector more than 25 years ago, with experience in senior management roles including at Kuehne + Nagel Richard offers clients a consultative approach to hiring, ensuring the right talent is placed in each role.
Richard added: “Finding the right talent for your business can be tricky. Everyone is fighting for the best candidates when it comes to the pool of top-quality candidates. This has the added challenge of candidates changing expectations.”
In a previous role, Richard knew too well of the many frustrations that could occur when trying to find the ideal candidate for vacancies – so decided to set up his own company to tackle the challenging experience of hiring great people.
“In the years that followed the pandemic, there has been the Great Resignation, quiet quitting and more. There is a significant recalibration taking place about how work fits into people’s lives, this is apparent in every industry including transport.
“In this new landscape both hiring and retaining talent has become more challenging. We are seeing lots of differing attitudes on areas such as flexible working, with differing opinions held across the spectrum of generations as well. This is the experience I shared at Multimodal.”
Innovate Freight Talent hires for a breadth of roles from customs operators and warehouse supervisors, through to business development managers and HR administrators. The firm uses the team’s deep understanding of the market to provide a consultative approach to hiring.
The company has enjoyed excellent growth in the first six months and is helping organisations fill a vast range of roles across the sector. With employers appreciating the team’s knowledge and unique appreciation of the market in which they operate. This means that they can speed up the hiring processes, reducing recruitment costs and save valuable time.
Innovate Freight Talent’s clients include both SMEs and large global organisations, hiring for road freight, logistics and air and sea. With the team growing in both size and expertise, the company hopes to continue its growth across the UK with roles in Europe now being filled by the expert recruitment team.
Richard added: “In the last six months we’ve doubled in size to help us not only focus on candidate outreach but also to ensure our clients get the best experience possible, in an ever-changing world of work the transport sectors has to be creative in attracting the best talent.”
Innovate Freight Talent is also a sponsor of Generation Logistics, a government backed initiative aimed at finding and engaging the next generation of logistics workers.
